I just haven’t felt like writing lately, but we’re closing in on a milestone that I thought was note worthy. Riley’s vocabulary continues to grow, and he has learned what his diaper is and can say “poo”. When he needs to do his business, he goes and sits in the corner near his changing table. When I go in there, he points at his diaper and says “poo”. They say this means they may be ready to start potty training! I’m just not ready for this.

As for our other baby, I’m SO ready! I packed my bag today, and we should meet our Levi in 2-3 weeks!

We went to Grandaddy and Mama Jo’s house last night for Christmas. Riley got all kinds of good stuff, and Levi got a few things as well! Mostly, it was nice getting to be with the family, as always. Jo’s boys joined us this year, and Riley spent a lot of the evening socializing with her son Troy and his girlfriend. He wanted absolutely nothing to do with Mom or Dad, which kind of made me sad. I guess I can’t get ALL of his attention, and honestly, I love that he’s a little social butterfly. It’s a trait I admire and always wish I possessed myself. Riley even got to spent the night with Grandaddy and Mama Jo after the party.

We had a quiet day at home today. The three of us went out to lunch and had a couple of visitors this evening. Aunt Laura and Delisa stopped by with some gifts, and we enjoyed seeing them for a little while. Now we are just looking forward to waking up to see what Santa brought Riley. I don’t know if he’s old enough to notice or even care, but Daddy and I are excited. We’re also excited about spending Christmas with some more of our family tomorrow! Anyways, Merry Christmas! I doubt I’ll be on the computer tomorrow, so I just wanted to say it in advance. I’ll get some new pictures posted this weekend, I promise!

I had a doctors appointment yesterday, and for a minute I thought we might have another family member by Christmas! Levi’s heartbeat sounded faint, so Dr. Kennedy sent me in for an Ultrasound. I was so worried that he was under some kind of stress and they would have to deliver me last night. Thankfully, he was just sound asleep when they were listening the first time. His heartbeat sounded perfect for the ultrasound tech and everything else looked great too. He definitely was awake the second time. He kept kicking the lady and her magic wand. She and the doctor both told me that the heartbeat slows down when they’re asleep.

It was fun getting a look at him again though. He was chilling out with his arm behind his head and you could see his jaws flapping like he was talking to us! Unfortunately, he’s in the breach position right now (the head is not down yet), so now I’m urging him to flip upside down. The U/S tech and my doctor both said how big Levi was going to be. He’s almost 5 lbs already, which is pretty big for 32 weeks!

Riley is getting into everything! I quit following him around the house a couple of months ago now, and all of the sudden I’m realizing there’s more baby proofing to be done. For instance, keeping the toilet seat closed. Twice yesterday I found him playing in the toilet. Once he was just splashing around, and once he was swirling a frisbee in there, making a huge mess. Good thing I cleaned the toilet yesterday morning! In the past couple of days he’s also learned how to climb on to the couch and living room chair, all by himself. This makes me so nervous. He wants to run back and forth on the couch and jump up and down. It’s pretty scary! I guess I’m back to never taking an eye off him again.

Riley’s getting some new teeth in. He won’t let me look very good, but I see at least 3 that have a tiny bit of white poking through. I don’t know why they have to come in multiples like this. He’s been drooling and fussing all day. Poor baby!

Riley finally had his 15 month appointment yesterday. I’m happy to say that we’ve finally found a new doctor for the boys. Her name is Dr. Redmond and Riley LOVED her. She was actually the doctor on call at the hospital when Riley was born, so we had met her before. We had hardly any wait to get back to see her, and Riley babbled at her and reached out for during most of the appointment. He spent a good 5 minutes in her arms while she talked to him about the pictures on the wall. Riley and I both felt very comfortable with her. She also has two boys and we share the same OBGYN, so we had lots to talk about. She said he was developing wonderfully and is finally gaining some weight! It’s hard for me to wrap my mind around this, but next time we go back, we’ll have a 1 month old in tow!

Riley spent some of Saturday hangin’ out with Grandaddy, Mama Jo and Aubrey. I needed to finish my Chrismas shopping, and they were happy to play for a few hours. We came home and watched the SEC Championship game. Bama won! I’m sure Riley was wondering what was wrong with me while I screamed at the television for several hours. We got to see Grandaddy again this morning, then headed over to Kelby and Bradley’s house. Nene was making her Christmas card photo with the 3 grandkids. Now we’re just waiting on his daddy to wake up. He’s been working so hard these past few days, so we haven’t seen him much. As bad as I know he wanted to hang out with us for a while, the poor thing needed some sleep! I’m just glad I can quit worrying about him falling asleep on the road now.

It was a good Thanksgiving. We started the day by going over to Aunt Terri’s house for lunch. Riley had a blast being around the other kids. He stuck right by Hannah most of the time. She had him coloring for the first time ever. He also jumped on Aubrey’s trampoline, which he thought was pretty cool. Later that afternoon we went to Nene’s house where we stuffed ourselves again. Riley spent the night with Nene that night and stayed with her all day yesterday. They must have worn eachother out because he slept until 7 am this morning!

We’ve been spending a lot of time outside this week. Riley gets so excited when I tell him it’s time to go out and play. He runs back and forth from the stroller to the door until I get us ready to leave. We were out on the playground a few days ago and there was another mother there with her two boys. Riley was so funny. He followed those boys around and wanted to play with them so bad. When they didn’t pay him any attention, he went to their mother and held out his arms to be picked up. This poor lady ended up holding Riley a good bit. It scares me a little bit that he loves strangers so much. If someone’s walking on the track, he will try to chase them down. I don’t know if he will eventually develop a healthy fear of strangers. Most babies seem to be born with that.

Yesterday we were outside again, and Riley really surprised me. He started climbing the ladder to the play set. I was right behind him, so he wasn’t going to fall, but he climbed that thing without any help whatsoever. He climbed the ladder and went down the slide probably 15 times. He’s just a baby! He’s not supposed to be able to climb ladders, is he? I took a picture right before rushing over to him. Check out the ladder, it’s pretty steep!

We went to Aubrey’s birthday party today. Riley had a lot of fun. He ate ice cream, cake and popcorn. It was a carnival theme, complete with midway games. Riley was obsessed with the duck pond. He wanted to go swimming and I had to stop him several times from crawling right in. He was soaked by the time we left! When he wasn’t splashing in the duck pond, he was pointing at the popcorn machine. There were a ton of kids there and I think he enjoyed running around with the rest of them. He was so sociable! He smiled and reached out for just about anyone that spoke to him. I just love this kid to pieces!
